In a week where Iowa State was almost in need of a win to advance its spot in the Big 12 standings, they came up just short, again.

The team was downed by the TCU Horned Frogs in yet another overtime defeat.

The 1-0 loss was the Cyclones’ seventh overtime game of the season as they fall to a 2-12-2 record on the year.

In the first half, each team controlled the ball relatively well, but the amount of scoring chances were not high.

TCU netted eight shots on net compared to Iowa State’s two, and the teams entered halftime knotted up in a scoreless tie.

The second half was more of the same for both teams. TCU was mounting a bit of pressure, and got the shots on net, but couldn’t convert a goal.

The teams would advance to a short overtime period, where TCU’s Yazmeen Ryan scored 7:20 into OT on either team’s first shot of the period.

Iowa State’s next match will be against the Texas Tech Red Raiders (8-6-2, 1-4-2 Big 12) on Sunday, where the team will be celebrating senior day. The match will kick off at 1:00 p.m. CT.
