Texas Tech police officer fatally shot by student

A Texas Tech police officer was shot and killed by a freshman student late Monday night.
The suspect is Hollis A. Daniels, a 19 year old freshman at Texas Tech. Daniels was reportedly brought into the campus police station for a debriefing after a welfare check in his room revealed drugs and paraphernalia, according to the Dallas Morning News.
When he arrived at the station, Daniels pulled out a gun and shot a police officer in the head.
The campus was locked down for more than an hour until police found and took Daniels into custody at 9:30 p.m.
Texas Tech sent out a tweet urging students and staff to take shelter while the shooter was at large.
