The Iowa State men’s cross country team wrapped up their regular season schedule with the Nuttycombe Invitational Friday, October 13th in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Cyclones finished 16th overall in a competitive field of 35 teams.

Sophomore Andrew Jordan was Iowa State’s first finisher, coming in 24th with a time of 24:05.6. Red shirt sophomore Festus Lagat was the next runner in for the Cyclones, crossing the line in 92nd with a time of 24:40.1. Current number one ranked Northern Arizona ran away with the team title, followed by Portland in second and Syracuse in third.

The Cyclones have raced in only one other meet this season, winning the Hawkeye Early Bird Invitational in Iowa City, IA, on September 1. They were originally scheduled to run at the Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minnesota on September 23, but withdrew due to illness.

The distance squad will now move into post-season action with the Big 12 Conference meet on October 28th in Round Rock, Texas.

After the conference meet, Iowa State will host the Midwest Regional qualifying meet at their home course on November 10th.
