Cyclones lose fight against fighting Nebraska

Iowa State’s Swim and Dive team fell against Nebraska by a score of 193-102.

In the sprint freestyle, Cyclones had a wonderful performance. Newcomer Anna Andersen and Senior Laura Miksch both won freestyle events.

In the 1000 freestyle, Kelly Soellner took second place with 10:24.91. Seniors Mary Kate Luddy and Silqi Luo took second and third in 200 freestyle respectively.

Miksch won the 50 freestyle with 23.86 and Anna took third with 24.35.

Also, Anna got her first victory as a Cyclone with her time of 51.85 in the 100 free. Luo placed fifth with 53.17.

On the diving team, Nebraska swept the three-meter board, with Dana Liva leading the way for Iowa State placing fourth with a score of 255.07. On the one-meter board, Dana Liva got the second place with a score of 246, while Sydney Ronald took third with a 229.05.

The cyclones are back in action in Beyer on next Friday against Omaha.
