On Friday, the Ames Chamber of Commerce will host the 2017 Ames Mayor and City Council Candidate Forum. The forum will be held at the City Church of Ames-Des Moines at 2400 Oakwood Rd in Ames.

Taking place from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., the candidates for mayor and city council will engage in what the Chamber of Commerce describes as a “lively and informative discussion.”

All members of the public are welcome and can choose to pay $10 for lunch, which will be served from 11:30 a.m. until noon. The Chamber of Commerce said that space is limited in the venue.

Mayoral candidates John Haila and Victoria Szopinski as well as City Council candidates Gloria Betcher, Amber Corrieri, David Martin and Rob Bowers will take part in the forum.

The forum will be moderated by Iowa State Daily Editor in Chief, Emily Barske, publisher of the Ames Tribune, Scott Anderson, and Trent Rice of the Trent Rice Show on 1430 KASI.
