Iowa State rallies to defeat Texas Tech

The No. 18 Iowa State volleyball had to rally back in five sets (25-27, 23-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-12) against the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Friday night.

The comeback win was fueled by Samara West. The senior led the Cyclones with 20 kills, which was a career-high. West also had seven blocks. Jess Schaben also got in on the scoring party, as she tallied 17 kills.

Libero Hali Hillegas also recorded 34 digs against the Red Raiders.

The win improved the Cyclones to 11-2 overall on the year, 2-1 in Big 12 play. Iowa State will retake the court next Wednesday, Oct. 4, against the Baylor Bears at Hilton Coliseum at 6:30 p.m.
