At the first P&S Council meeting of the fall semester, the council reviewed a long list of the senators priorities in the Gallery Room in the Memorial Union at 2:10 p.m.

P&S Council President, Jessica Bell explained how the executive committee grouped the priorities into university human resources, supervisory training, perks, workplace environment, financial benefits, inclusion, salary, and family needs.

“These priorities are what are going to guide our work for the next year,” said Bell.

The council then debated if the list is to long and needs to be shortened. The Vice President of University Community Relations.

“Somebody spoke out in saying that this is a concern of theirs and we’re saying ‘nope sorry, not this year,’” Larson said.

Bell wants to avoid making these cuts an executive level decision. She proposed to divide the list amongst committees and allow them to prioritize the items.

Later in the meeting the president nominated Barry McCroskey and Casey Smith from the college of agriculture and life sciences, and Jason Follett from the college of engineering to fill three open seats on the council. Jacob Cummings was reinstated as the councils secretary and treasurer.
