The Iowa State men’s basketball team added a graduate transfer Friday afternoon.

Hans Brase, who is transferring from Princeton, has suffered season-ending knee injuries each of the past two years. Brase will be immediately eligible to start the 2017-18 season in November.

In his last full season, Brase averaged 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for the Tigers. He also hit 51 3-pointers on 148 attempts (34.5 percent) in 2014-15.

Brase will be asked to help replace the scoring and rebounding production of former Cyclones Deonte Burton, Monte Morris, Matt Thomas, Naz Mitrou-Long and Darrell Bowie, who graduated following the 2016-17 season.

Brase, who has been listed at 6-foot-8 and 231 pounds, should complement Solomon Young in the frontcourt for Iowa State and provide some much-needed depth for the Cyclones.
