Iowa State got one last football commitment in its 2017 football recruiting class Friday afternoon.

Josh Knipfel, who played one season at Iowa Western Community College, will have three years of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2017 season.

Knipfel, a native of Hampton, Iowa, will play on the offensive line for the Cyclones.

Knipfel’s 6-foot-6, 315-pound frame helped him draw attention from some premier programs around the country. According to 247Sports, Knipfel held offers from programs such as Memphis, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.

In a Twitter announcement, Knipfel said, “I would like to thank my family, friends, coaches, and the man above for supporting and helping me through this process.”
