The Inter-Residence Hall Association passed two bills and heard about the future of Homecoming events on campus during its meeting Thursday evening.

The meeting opened with a presentation from the 2017 Homecoming co-chairs. A campus-wide competition, similar to the greek-wide competition, is in the works for the coming fall.

Four levels of the competition will be available for students, with each level based on how many individuals are signed up to participate.

After the presentation, the group moved on to official business. A bill was introduced that had Burch-Welch-Robert and Barton-Lyon-Freeman asking for $4,990 to fund Hickory Park catering for the Carrie Lane Crashtacular event.

This year will mark the fourth year of the event, which will take place from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 22. The event will feature student bands from on campus.

The bill was passed unanimously.

The second bill of the night dealt with the Martin Helser Service event, which will take place from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 22. The bill asked for $500 to help fund the event.

The event will include creating care packages for ACCESS and the ISU Police Department. Items in the care package will range from treats to personal care products.

The bill was passed 28-0-1.

After voting, the group proceeded to discuss IRHA bylaws. In particular, the group examined the rules of each member, focusing on the executive council.

IRHA will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Memorial Union.
