Cyclones Men’s Golf heads east for Hawkeye Invitational.

Rivalry week is here for the Cyclones.

The Iowa State men’s golf team return to action for their last regular competition in the season in the Hawkeye Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa April 15- 16.

This Invitational will be 54 holes, with both the first and second round finishing on the first day, with the third on the second.

The Cyclones are coming back from a last hole winning performance in the Seattle Redhawk Invitational.

In which the Cyclones beat out No.35 Northwestern by one stroke to clinch their third victory this season. Tying the record for most won invitational in a season since the 1996-1997 season.

Confirmed teams competing will be in state rivals, No.67 Iowa. Big 12 rivals No. 41 Kansas, No. 10 Texas Tech, and No 112 Kansas State. Along with No. 94 Arkansas State, No.113 Denver, No. 186 DePaul, No. 116 Marquette, No.79 Minnesota, No. 137 Nebraska, No. 193 South Dakota State, No. 107 Utah, and No. 165 UMKC.

Last year during the 2015-16 season, the Cyclones finished tied with Iowa for second place, losing to Kansas.

Yet did managed to have Ruben Sondjaja win the overall tournament scoring 206 (70-70-66).

This is a very important match for the Cyclones, should the Cyclones win this invitational, this team would have the most victories on any Cyclone squad.

The tournament will start at 9am Saturday April 15.
