Services set for Ames firefighter Steve Buser

A celebration of life service for Steve Buser, an Ames firefighter who died Friday at Mary Greely Medical Center after a medical emergency, will take place from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the City of Ames Auditorium. 

Buser, 51, had been a firefighter with the Ames Fire Department since Nov. 18, 1999. He was taken to the hospital after he was found unresponsive at Fire Station No. 2, where he was working out.

Public parking will be available in Lot MM at the far west end of the City Hall Parking lot, Lot TT, south of the intersection of Main Street and Pearle Ave., Lot V, south of Main Street by the depot, and Lot N, to the east of City Hall. 

Sixth Street, from Grand Avenue to Clark Avenue, will be blocked for Ames Fire Department parking.
