Iowa State women’s basketball fell to No. 25 Kansas State on Saturday afternoon 80-68.

The first half went back and forth. Kansas State (18-7, 8-5 Big 12) led 40-37 at halftime. Emily Durr had 14 first half points for the Cyclones, but leading scorer Bridget Carleton was held to just four points in the first half.

The Wildcats maintained a small lead for the entirety of the second half. The Cyclones trailed by eight as the game went into the fourth quarter.

With under four minutes to go, Iowa State hit a pair of 3-pointers to bring the game within four points. But Iowa State was unable to break through after that. Kansas State pulled away in the final minutes to win.

Seanna Johnson had a strong performance, scoring 17 points and adding five rebounds and five assists. Durr finished with 20 points, including six 3-pointers.

Carleton, who is averaging nearly 17 points per game in Big 12 play, finished with just eight points. She grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
