Monday night’s Cyclone Voice preliminary round featured karaoke versions of popular songs such as “When I was your Man” by Bruno Mars and “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town. Some of the performers chose to be their own accompanist, mainly acoustic songs, while others just sang the lyrics to their songs background music.

The event coordinator, Hayly Smith thought that this year’s prelim round was as good as expected.

“I thought the Cyclone Voice Prelims went great. We had a lot of talented singers participating in the event and our judges were awesome. I’m excited to see the finalists perform again at finals,” Smith said.
