Brandy Clark to play the Maintenance Shop

Caroline Shaw

Brandy Clark will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Maintenance Shop. Tickets are $15 with an ISU student ID and $20 for the public.

Brandy Clark is a four-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter and MusicRow magazine’s 2014 breakthrough artist of the year.

Clark’s songs have been recorded by well-known artists such as Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry, Reba McEntire, LeAnn Rimes, Billy Currington, Darius Rucker and Kacey Musgraves.

Clark has recently gone on tour with Eric Church and is currently on tour with Jennifer Nettles.

Growing up in a small town, Clark always dreamed of being a country singer. When she moved to Nashville she had success in songwriting with Miranda Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart”, Kacey Musgraves’ “Follow Your Arrow”, and The Band Perry’s “Better Dig Two”. However, having her own career seemed unlikely until she released her debut album “12 Stories”.

Brandy Clark’s small town origin, unique journey, and wide touring experience will make Thursday night’s performance a stellar representation of today’s country music.
