David Ramirez will perform his blend of folk and americana at the M-Shop on Thursday.

Parker Reed

Folk/Americana singer-songwriter David Ramirez will bring his “brutally honest” (“Paste”) set to the M-Shop at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Tickets are $10 with a student ID and $13 for the public, with a $2 increase the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased at the M-Shop box office or online via Midwestix.

Ramirez’s latest album “Fables” came out in August continuing his trend of “dark, wrenching tales that are immediately identifiable to those who’ve loved and lost” according to NPR Music.

Ramirez has opened for other acclaimed acts in the genre including Shakey Graves, Joe Pug and Gregory Alan Isakov. This is the first headlining tour for Ramirez.

Americana singer-songwriter Lucette will open the show.

Lucette’s debut LP was released in 2014. Since then she has performed at a variety of festivals including SXSW and the Calgary Folk Music Festival.
