Movies that deserve sequels

Emma Hassemer

There have been many movies in cinema history and a lot of fans are still asking for sequels to see what happened with there favorite characters. With the recent occurence of cult classics like Zoolander, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles getting much deserved sequels, let’s see what some of classic movies would be like with a sequel.

Here are five movies that would make successful sequels in theatres.

 1. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

The sequel of this classic would star Ferris Bueller all grown up, but rather than staying home and ditching school, Bueller ditches work. Instead of Bueller’s principle chasing him around Chicago trying to catch him in the act of ditching school, it would be his boss. The sequel would include the same comical characters that made the first movie so successful and hilarious.

2. Elf

Although Elf is considered a Christmas movie, Elf is a movie you could watch in the middle of July because Will Ferrell is a phenomal actor. The sequel would be about Buddy and Jovie living in the North Pole with their daughter, Susie, who was introduced at the end of the first movie. Buddy and Jovie would take Susie to the Big Apple and show her how they celebrate Christmas with Buddy’s real birth parents.

3.  Burlesque

Not only was this movie popular, but so was the soundtrack. Christina Aguilera was amazing in all of the songs in the movie. The sequel would take place in the same Burlesque Lounge as the original movie. Ali Rose (Christina Aguilera), Tess (Cher) and Jack (Cam Gignandet) would be recruiting new dancers and singers to perform on stage. Along with the movie, the new soundtrack would be a major hit too.

4. Breakfast Club

This movie was an all time classic. All of the same main characters would star in this sequel. We would see them all grown up with kids, jobs and whomever they married. Somehow the original cast’s kids would end up serving detention together and the kids would have similar personas as their parents. They then find out that their parents were in the same room as they are now serving detention years ago and would find a way to escape.

5. Frozen

There are so many Disney movies with sequels and hopefully Frozen will get added to the list. Instead of the sequel centering around Elsa and Ana, the sequel would center around Olaf. Olaf was a fan favorite and won the audience over with his funny and positive personality. The sequel would start off with Olaf wishing he could find another snowman that he could spend time with. Elsa grants his wish and makes Olaf a snowwoman. Olaf and his new friend would want to live in the mountains where it’s cold, but Elsa and Ana wouldn’t want them to leave the castle. This sequel would also include another soundtrack with brand new songs.
