The Iowa State Women’s Golf team added two players for the upcoming 2020 season. These two players are Charley Jacob and Ellie Braksiek. They will compete for starting positions on the golf team next year. They each bring success with them to Iowa State.

Charley Jacob is from Adelaide, Australia and Ellie Braksiek is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Jacob has had a good level of success in Adelaide. She has received 12 top ten finishes in 30 matches. Some of her best tournaments have been the Victorian Junior Masters where she placed 2nd, The Queensland Stoke Play & Amateur Championship where she got 3rd, and the Australian Girl Amatuer where she got 5th.

Braksiek has also experienced success in high school at Cedar Rapids. Some of her best tournaments have been the Airport National Junior where she got 1st and Iowa City Junior at Brown Deer where she got 2nd. Braksiek as also made it to Iowa Girls Jr. PGA Championship twice, earning 12th in 2018 and 8th in 2019.

Women’s golf does not resume until February but it is still important to focus on the future of the team, so these two recruits are very important to a very young and talented team

Both girls hope to work their way to the starting team and make an impact on the team right away. With only one senior this year, Amelia Grohn, it is going to take everything Jacob and Braksiek have to got to make the team.
