The Ames Tribune, Quality Inn & Suites, Celebrations Party & Wedding Store and KIX 101.1 will host their annual Bridal ExCYtement show at the Quality Inn & Suites from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Ames Quality Inn & Suites.

Ali Eernisse, advertising coordinator for the Ames Tribune, said at least 27 different vendors will be at the show.

Photographers, DJs, dress shops, tuxedo shops, bakeries, caterers, venues, invitation designers and more will be available to answer questions and help with the planning process, making it a “one-stop” wedding-planning experience.

A fashion show will take place at 3:30 p.m., where brides will be able to see the latest trends in bridal fashion. The show will feature garments and models from Pure Bridal, Modern Dress, Milroy’s Tuxedos and Moorman Clothiers.

Despite its name, Bridal ExCYtement isn’t exclusively just for brides.

“I think for an event like this, the more the merrier,” Eernisse said. “You see a lot of brides-to-be bring their moms, mother-in-laws, bridesmaids, dads and even their grooms.”

The event even has a “man cave” set up exclusively for the grooms, where they can grab a free beer and enjoy some snacks while watching TV.

Hundreds of dollars worth of giveaways will be passed out throughout the expo with the grand prize being a $1,000 gift certificate to Bridestar, Eernisse said.

This is a free event, but those who pre-register on the event’s website will be entered in a drawing to win $100 cash.
