Another standing ovation as the duo ended the final song.

Robin and Linda Williams, the singer and songwriter folk duo from Virginia, returned to the M-Shop Wednesday night.

It was a full house in the M-Shop Wednesday as die hard fans and newcomers of all ages flocked to see Robin and Linda Williams perform once again at Iowa State. Many of these fans have been coming for almost the entirety of the amazing 42 years that the duo has been performing on campus.

The sound of laughter and old friends catching up was the “opening act” as everyone anxiously waited for the couple to step on stage. Robin and Linda instantly took over the room, filling the seated concert with bluegrass and banter as they performed song after song.

“Bluegrass and beer, there’s nothing better,” laughed one fan, who has been in attendance each year for the last 23 years. “I see them time and time again, and not once have I been disappointed.”

Robin and Linda are known not only by their fantastic guitar, banjo, and harmonies, but also by the hilarious jokes intermixed between songs. Many attendees agreed laughter was guaranteed at these concerts.

A clear crowd pleaser year after year, Robin and Linda Williams will hopefully make their 43rd return to the M-Shop next year.
