The Steepwater Band to perform with King of the Tramps at Bluestem

The Steepwater Band will perform alongside King of the Tramps from 8 to 11 p.m.  Saturday at the Bluestem Stage.

The Steepwater Band will perform with King of the Tramps from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Bluestem stage.

Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite and at the door. Prices are $12 for students and $16 for adults. 

Rock group King of the Tramps from Auburn, Iowa, will open the show. According to its website, the band is known for a sound it calls “Whiskey Gospel.”

According to the King of the Tramps Facebook page, the band is inspired by Woody Guthrie and the traveling musicians of the past. They have released three albums, with their most recent being “Joyful Noise.”

Originally from Chicago, rock group The Steepwater Band will headline the show. The group came together in 1998 and has opened for acts such as ZZ Top, Buddy Guy and Heart.

The Steepwater Band has toured across the United States and Europe, performing nearly 140 shows annually. 

The band has produced four albums, with its most recent being a live album titled “Live and Humble,” which was recorded during a concert in Chicago.
