Kyle Heim

Perez Rotich and Erin Hooker led the Cyclones to a second place finish at the Big 12 Championship on Saturday in Stillwater, Okla.

The duo finished first and second, respectively, in the race, marking the highest finishes for both runners in a meet during their ISU cross-country careers.

But Iowa State’s second place team performance of 52 points ended the team’s winning streak of four consecutive conference titles.

Oklahoma State, which entered the meet ranked No. 23 in the most recent U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll, won the championship with 34 points.

Abby Caldwell, Evelyne Guay and Andrea Toppin rounded at the scoring for the Cyclones with 15th, 16th and 18th place performances, respectively.

The NCAA Midwest Regional is next on the schedule for the Cyclones and will take place Nov. 13 in Lawrence, Kan.
