All Time Low and Sleeping With Sirens will headline the Back To The Future Hearts Tour at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the 7 Flags Event Center in Clive, Iowa. International bands Neck Deep and ONE OK ROCK will support them on this tour. Tickets for the all-ages show are available for $29.50 through ticketfly. Tickets will also be sold at the venue for $35.

All Time Low is a four-piece pop-punk band that formed in 2003 in Towson, Md. They recently released their sixth studio album, Future Hearts, on April 7.  All Time Low will play a 1:40-minute set.

“We were much more self-aware when we made Future Hearts. We kind of knew what we wanted to do and there was a story. We just kind of knew every element we wanted to touch on. I don’t think we missed anything with the record,” said Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low.

He said their previous record, Don’t Panic, was very one sided and did not explore a lot of different sounds. Future Hearts he said they tried new sound that made the album a lot more diverse. He said they touched on west coast punk, electro-ballads and had some folk sounding song.

“We put a lot of emphasis on the newest record. I think we are playing something like eight or nine songs, maybe even 10 from the new album, which is the most we’ve ever played from a new album, but the demand was there,” Gaskarth said. “There were people when the new album came out, kind of begging us to play more and more new songs. You know that’s a really great problem to have. Sometimes you don’t always get that reaction with a new record.”

When a new record comes out and a band tours the fans help dictate what songs a band will play. Some people only want to hear the music they grew up with and don’t like how a band may shift their sound, Gaskarth said.

All Time Low will also be playing a lot of what they consider to be their staple songs such as Weightless, Dear Maria, Count Me In, Damned if I Do Ya (Damned if I Don’t) and Therapy.

“I think a big thing for us is like I said we just want people to come and have an amazing time and be able to sort of forget about whatever else might be going on in their lives,” Gaskarth said.

Coheadlining the Back to the Future Hearts Tour are Sleeping With Sirens. Sleeping With Sirens is a five-piece pop-rock band that formed in 2008. They recently released their fifth studio album, Madness, on March 13. They will be performing a one-hour set before All Time Low.

“We try to keep [our set time] at an hour but sometimes we go a little over but obviously since we play before them every night, you know, we don’t have an encore or stuff like that, so we’ve got to keep our set pretty tight. We jam pack a ton of songs into our set,” said Nick Martin of Sleeping with Sirens.

About 75 to 85 percent of the songs that Sleeping With Sirens will play are from Madness. Martin said it was important to finally get to showcase their newest music. They will play staple songs such as If You Can’t Hang, Tally Up, Settle The Score and Congratulations.

“At least from our end it’s a lot more exciting being able to play new songs and feel a bit more fresh with our set, especially with all of our old fans that are coming out to the show and seeing us play some songs for the first time,” Martin said.

Supporting All Time Low and Sleeping With Sirens are Neck Deep and ONE OK ROCK.
