Senior right side hitter Mackenzie Bigbee will be having surgery on her right knee Oct. 7 and will be out for 2-4 weeks.

Bigbee injured her right knee during practice this week and the MRI showed a small tear in her meniscus. She will be having surgery on her right knee Oct. 7 in the afternoon.

The timetable for her return depends on how much repair the doctors will have to do to her knee and personal recovery time. The ISU Athletic Department said the recovery time will probably be between 2-4 weeks.

More information on Bigbee’s surgery will come at the match tonight at 6:30 p.m. against Kansas State, once her surgery is complete.

In two weeks, Iowa State will be playing West Virginia on Oct. 21. In four weeks, Iowa State will be at TCU on Nov. 7 or at West Virginia on Nov. 11.
