The Paul R. Knapp Animal Learning Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds saw a slew of Republican presidential candidates on Saturday. Issues ranging from immigration and gun laws to the funding of Planned Parenthood were discussed in front of an audience of nearly 1,500 people.

While the candidates had much to say, some of the most influential quotes are as follows:

  • “We’ll repeal every word of Obamacare,” said Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in regards to his first day in office if he is elected president.
  • “The only way you’ll stop radical Islam from coming here is to send some of us back over there,” said Lindsey Graham, the Republican Sen. from South Carolina.
  • “On day 1 (…) I will terminate the bad deal with Iran,” said Scott Walker, the current Wis. governor.
  • “Planned Parenthood is ripping apart babies,” La. Gov. Bobby Jindal said.
  • “I am in favor of ethanol,” said Donald Trump, presidential candidate and prominent New York businessman, in regards to the Renewable Fuels Standard.
  • “They’re a death cult,” said former Pa. Sen. Rick Santorum when speaking about radical Islam in the Middle East.
