Iowa State comeback falls short against Virginia

Iowa State lost their final match in the Cavalier Classic against Virginia in five sets. The team lost the first two sets against Virginia, but tied it up 2-2 to head into a deciding fifth set.
Senior libero Caitlin Nolan led the team with 29 digs in the match. This match makes 24 straight matches with at least 10 digs in a match for Nolan.
Freshman outside hitter Jess Schaben continues to rack up kills this weekend with 14 kills against Virginia, that makes 51 kills over the three matches this weekend.
Junior outside hitter Ciara Capezio recorded 13 kills and 11 digs against Virginia. This double-double is her 17th of her career.
Iowa State will head back to the home state of Iowa to play at the Comfort Suites Challenge in Iowa City, Iowa. The team will play Milwaukee, Texas A&M and, rival, Iowa from Sep. 11-13.
