Campustown to host 4th annual ISU football celebration

The Campustown Action Association will host the fourth annual ISU football kickoff celebration from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fri., Sept. 4 on Welch Avenue.

The free event, called Friday Afternoon in Campustown features live music and a beer garden in Lot T on Welch Avenue. Many of the surrounding restaurants will have takeout meal specials for the night, so patrons can watch live music as they eat. 

Opening the show is Jacey Gutknecht, a pop/folk-soul/country artist, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. She will play original acoustic songs from three of her albums.

The Pork Tornadoes headline the night and will play from 6:30 p.m. until close. They are a cover band with music ranging from current pop to ’80s hairband rock.

Persons attending the event must be 21-years-old, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase.
