On Aug. 23, international students checked in and rode the yellow school bus destined to reach the Iowa State Fair.

The Iowa State Fair not only attracts Iowans but people from all over the world, including international students from Iowa State.

“We have a morning trip and afternoon trip, with 35 people per group,” said Jennifer Rosen, graduate student in education.

The International Students and Scholars Office organized the event to allow students to experience the music, food, agriculture and more that make up the fair. Eligible students included those involved in the program with the office.

“We’re running all the programs to the international students,” said Kathryn Lundgren, international student adviser for the office. “Since this fair becomes a kind of tradition in Iowa, it is a good way to let international students experience local culture with it.”
