Among all of the Fourth of July festivities, the Orlando portion of the NBA Summer League kicked off with a trio of former Cyclones.

The three former ISU players competing in the Orlando Summer League include forward Melvin Ejim, who is playing for the Orlando Magic white squad, forward Royce White and guard Diante Garrett, who are both suiting up for the Los Angeles Clippers summer league team.

Ejim was the first to see action when his team took on the Detroit Pistons on Saturday. In the 87-76 win against the Pistons, Ejim recorded 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists. The former Cyclone finished tied for the most rebounds in the game.

It was White’s and Garrett’s turn next, who faced off against the Orlando Magic blue squad.

In the two-point loss against the Magic, White recorded two assists and Garrett tallied two points, six assists and one rebound.

The second day of summer league action only featured White and Garrett, while Ejim had the day off.
