ISU tennis had home court advantage on its side, but couldn’t prevail against No. 32 Texas, losing 4-2.

The team came out slow, losing the doubles point in number one and three doubles. However, in singles, the Cyclones made a little comeback to keep the match close.

Junior Alejandra Galvis made it eight straight, winning the first point for Iowa State in singles. With another win coming from senior Ksenia Pronina, the team was only down 3-2 with senior Meghan Cassens leading in her third set.

Cassens dropped the set, leaving the final mark on a close match against a ranked opponent.

ISU tennis will next compete against No. 7 Baylor at 9 a.m. Sunday at Ames Racquet and Fitness Center.
