ISU tennis defeats Quinnipiac

Brian Mozey

After a loss to St. John’s, the ISU tennis team came out firing against Quinnipiac with a 6-1 win.

The Cyclones came out winning the doubles point with the help from number one and two doubles pairings. This was the first doubles win for junior Ana Gasparovic, coming back from her wrist injury, with senior Meghan Cassens.

The team kept the intensity rolling in singles with five of the six players winning their singles match. None of the matches went into a deciding third match.

This win improves their record to 6-8 in the season and 1-1 in the Big 12 conference. It also builds their confidence for two key match-ups this weekend.

Iowa State will be playing Kansas on March 20 and Kansas State on March 22 in hopes to improve their Big 12 record to 3-1.
