ISU men’s track tunes up for Big 12s, sets record at Alex Wilson Invitational

This weekend was all about tuning up for the Big 12 Indoor Championships for the ISU men’s track and field squad. There were three separate meets that ISU runners attended.

Junior Jared Ingram led the Cyclones at the UNI-Dome Open with a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash. He also ran a season-high time of 6.99 in the 60-meter dash. Freshman Logan Schneider competed with Ingram in the 60-meter dash, finishing in third place. He also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash on Feb. 20 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The ISU distance medley team finished with a time of 9:31.85 in South Bend, Ind. on Feb. 21, which beat its previous record of 9:34.36. The distance medley team is now ranked eighth nationally.

Iowa State finished second in its heat and fourth place overall at the Alex Wilson Invitational.

The Cyclones will race again at the Big 12 Indoor Championships in Ames on Feb. 27 and 28 at Lied Recreation Center.
