The ISU wrestling team rounded out its short conference play with a 29-7 win against West Virginia in Morgantown. Iowa State nows has a 2-1 record in conference duals.

The Cyclones jumped out front early and never looked back, as 184-pound NCAA qualifier Lelund Weatherspoon scored a pin to get the dual started. Kyven Gadson followed with a decision victory before Quean Smith fell at heavyweight via 5-4 decision. Kyle Larson would also lose his bout at 125 pounds.

Earl Hall continued his undefeated streak in 2015 with a close 4-2 decision against Cory Stainbrook. After a win at Oklahoma State last weekend, Dante Rodriguez rode the momentum to a high scoring 13-10 decision against No. 12 Nick Morales, the Mountaineers’ highest ranked grappler.

Both Morenos, Gabe and Michael, won their bouts as did Luke Goettl and Tanner Weatherman, who won a major decision against Parker VonEgidy.

Iowa State’s next action comes against Arizona State at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13 at Hilton Coliseum.
