3 stars from Cyclone Hockey’s 6-1 win

Luke Manderfeld

Cyclone Hockey finished a marginal win over the University of Illinois by a score of 6-1 on Jan. 9 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

Here are the three stars from the night.

1. Chase Rey, Cyclone forward: It became a storybook night for Rey who scored two goals to help his team to a victory in his first period of hockey this season. Rey returned from six months of rehab after a shoulder surgery resulting from an injury sustained at the end of last season.

2. J.P. Kascsak, Cyclone forward: Kascsak also lit up the lamp twice to add to his eight scores on the seasson. He was also a +1 in the game.

3. Trevor Lloyd, Cyclone forward: Lloyd assisted on three goals in the game and grabbed a +3 as well.

The Cyclones will take on the Illini with a chance to sweep at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 10 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.
