Three stars from Cyclone Hockey’s Jan. 30 win

With a late-game goal, the Cyclones downed the No. 2 Central Oklahoma Bronchos with a 5-4 win Jan. 30 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.

1. Preston Blanek, Cyclone forward: Blanek scored the game winner with 14.1 seconds left on the clock to seal the victory for the Cyclones.

2. Zack Johnson, Cyclone forward: Johnson’s intensity was apparant immediately after he scored the first goal of the game on a power play. He continued that intensity by finishing checks and making sure his presence was felt throughout the ice. 

3. Scott Ismond, Cyclone forward: Ismond made save after save to keep his team in the game.

Cyclone Hockey takes another crack at Central Oklahoma at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.
