Field events contribute to ISU men’s track success at the Big 4 Duals

The success of the ISU men’s track and field team came through the field events Jan. 24 at the Big 4 Duals.

Redshirt senior Henry Kelley finished first in the weight throw with a distance of 18.86 meters, which ranks sixth in ISU track and field history.

Junior Jan Jeuschede also notched a first place finish in the shot put. He threw a distance of 18.12 meters.

Another ISU first-place finish includes senior Brian Biekert, who finished with a time of 4:06.23 in the mile run. Following close behind him was redshirt sophomore Brian Llamas with a time of 4:07.25.

Iowa State also finished one-two in the 800-meter run. Senior Edward Kemboi finished in first with a time of 1:46.94 and senior Patrick Peterson finished right behind him with a time of 1:49.30.

The Cyclones will be back in action Jan. 30 in Fayetteville, Ark. for the Razorback Team Invitational.
