Three stars from Cyclone Hockey’s Dec. 6 win

After losing a close game in a shootout the night before, Cyclone Hockey squeezed out a 2-1 victory against the Lindenwood Lions on Dec. 6 at the Lindenwood Ice Arena.

Here are the three stars from the game.

1. Scott Ismond, Cyclone goaltender: Ismond entered the game in a tough spot after starting goaltender Matt Cooper was ejected from a game misconduct call. He was up to the challenge, stopping 26-of-27 shots.

2. Zack Johnson, Cyclone forward: Johnson deflected a shot into the back of the net that put the Cyclones up by one and ultimately became the game-winning tally.

3. Michael Hails, Lion goaltender: Hails stopped 30-of-32 shots he faced and kept his team in the game, but the Lions couldn’t secure the victory.

Cyclone Hockey will be back in action next week against Robert Morris University at 7 p.m. on Dec. 6 at the Ames/ISU Ice Arena.
