You can lower your risk of sexual assault by:

  • Telling your friends your limits
    • Tell them how far is too far for you.
  • Attending events with people you know
    • Arrive together and leave together.
  • Trusting your instincts
    • If you see something, say something.
  • Making a code word
    • This can let someone know you’re in a potentially dangerous situation.

What to do if someone you know has been sexually assaulted:

  • Do not dispute what they tell you
  • Listen
  • Assure them that it is not their fault
  • Be attentive
  • Give them resources they can use to get help
