ISU tennis improves on second day in Houston

The second day is finished at Houston for the Jason’s Deli Collegiate Invitational and the singles improved from the first day. 

On Friday, the singles matches had a record of 2-6 and today, Saturday, the record changed to 5-3. The doubles matches went 2-2 today with wins from senior Caroline Andersen/junior Alejandra Galvis and sophomores Natalie Phippen/Talisa Merchiers. 

Senior Meghan Cassens won another singles match and improves to an 8-1 record this fall. Cassens has 59 career victories going into the regular season. 

Phippen and Merchiers needed a win for contention of a spot in the doubles lineup for the regular season. 

The invitational and the fall season will end on Sunday in Houston, Texas. Play will start with doubles matches against Oklahoma and Rice.
