Regent Nicole Carroll of the Iowa Board of Regents has resigned from her position on the board because of a family move, according to a Board of Regents press release.

The resignation is effective today.

“Given my family’s recent move out of state, I wish to make this announcement ahead of the next board meeting,” Carroll said in the release. “I want to thank everyone for the wonderful opportunity to serve on the Board of Regents.”

Carroll was appointed to the board in 2011. Her term would have expired on April 30, 2017.

“We appreciate regent Carroll’s leadership and service on the Board of Regents,” said board President Bruce Rastetter. “We wish Nicole and her husband the very best in their future endeavors.”

The Iowa governor is charged with appointing members to the Board of Regents and confirmed by the Senate.
