The ISU tennis team competed in the University of South Dakota Invitational this past weekend. Here are five takeaways from the tournament:

1. Sophomore Talisa Merchiers was tied for third in the tournament with a 2-1 record.

2. All the players are healthy and ready to practice singles this week except for freshman Anna Garcia due to a lingering back injury.

3. Even though the conditions were cold and windy, the players adjusted and performed at a high caliber.

4. ISU coach Armando Espinosa liked how the players implemented practice but didn’t care for the results.

5. Senior Caroline Hauge Andersen and junior Alejandra Galvis played doubles together for the second straight tournament and are both looking forward to the regular season.
