The ISU swimming & diving team was unable to pull out the victory Oct. 18 at Beyer Hall as it fell to Nebraska, 153-147.

In the opening event, the 200-yard Medley relay, the Cyclones were able to finish second and third after a very tight race for first.

ISU swimmer Karyl Clarete excelled in the distance events, taking both the 500 and 100-yard free.

Deis and Engel won tight races in consecutive events to give the cyclones three straight event victories after the relay loss.

Elyse Brouillette continues her success from Oct. 17 as she finished with a score of 306.68 in the 3-M dive. Brouillette also scored a 278.63 in the 1-M dive.

The meet was a dead heat late, as the teams were tied at 132 with just two events remaining.

The Cornhuskers took a slight lead at 142-141 going into the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Nebraska took the final event to seal the win, 153-147.

The ISU swimming & diving team will look to rebound when it takes on the South Dakota Coyotes Oct. 24 in Beyer Hall.
