Inspired Yordano Ventura leads Royals to game seven

With the series back in Kansas City, the Royals faced a must win game in front of their home crowd. After dropping three of the first five games of the series, the Royals captured a game six win lead by a dominant pitching performance by Yordano Ventura.

Although his team camaraderie was plenty, Ventura had some extra motivation Tuesday night when he took the mound. This past Sunday, Ventura’s friend, Dominican Republic teammate and Cardinal’s Outfielder Oscar Taveras passed away in a tragic automobile accident in their native Dominican Republic. With “RIP O.T. #18” written in silver sharpie on his hat, it was quite obvious that Ventura had some extra stuff Tuesday.Great pitching does not mean anything, if the offense cannot get the bats rolling, and that is what is so impressive about the Royal’s performance; their offense showed up too.

Mounting 10 runs, the Royals were lead by Lorenzo Cain, Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas, with seven runs batted in between the three, it was evident that the Royals were firing on all cylinders. With game seven Wednesday Night, be sure to tune in to see who takes the World Series.
