Students celebrate Diwali

Join the Hindu YUVA, Youth for Unity Virtues and Action, student, organization 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23 7 for Deepawali Poojan at Schiletter University Community Center in Ames. There will be food, prayer and lighting of diyas, or small lamps.

Diwali is a time to gather the family, worship, clean the house, bake sweets and traditional Indian foods, and light firecrackers.
