People from all across town gather on Main Street to celebrate Oktoberfest on Oct. 12. Oktoberfest is a traditional all-day German celebration featuring German food, alcohol, games and polka dancing.

Tickets: $25 for Sept. 19, $10 for Sept. 20 or $30 for both days

Sept. 19

  • 12 p.m. 200 block of Main Street will be closed
  • 6:30 to 11 p.m. The Nadas, a Des Moines folk-rock band, will perform. Craft beer and German food will be available.

Sept. 20

  • 1 p.m. Guten Tag Games, music from Sidecar Rallye, craft beer tasting, European Wine Pavilion and traditional German food. 
  • 4:30 p.m. Polka music
  • 6 p.m. Standing Hamptons will perform
  • 12 a.m. Closing of Oktoberfest
