Most Anticipated Movies of 2015: Part II

1. Star Wars: Episode VII (December 18th)- With J.J. Abrams at the helm directing and two of the original writers back on board, there doesn’t seem to be too much for fans to be worried about with the newest adaptation to George Lucas’ universe. There is one catch though; Disney does now own Lucasfilm, which has caused some concerns. A good amount of the big name actors who starred in the originals will be returning to play the aged-versions of themselves, as the story supposedly picks up 30 years after Episode VI. The young, new cast looks promising from their recent roles, some of them award-winning. All fans can do now is wait and see if it’s a success or a bust.

2. The Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 1st)- Joss Whedon has seemingly taken over as the go-to writer and director for the superhero genre, especially Marvel. Like Guillermo Del Toro, he has made a name for himself in this genre, and is back at it with the second installment of Marvel’s “Avengers.” As the follow up to one of the highest grossing movies of all time, Age of Ultron has high expectations and is expected to deliver. With Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olson, James Spader and Paul Bettany as the big names joining the already tremendous cast, the film definitely looks promising but also darker than its predecessor.

3. Mad Max: Fury Road (May 15th)- George Miller is back at it with his now fourth installment in the Mad Max franchise, this time bringing in action star Tom Hardy as the lead. Alongside Charlize Theron, Hardy finds himself struggling to restore order in this post-apocalyptic, desert-like world where everyone is crazed and fighting for survival.

4. Jurassic World (June 12th)- Taking place 22 years after the original film, this story takes place at the fully functioning park that the creator, John Hammond, envisioned. After attendance at the park drops, the owners desperately create a new attraction that goes terribly wrong. Starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson and more, the fourth installment will hopefully do the franchise justice and make the late Lord Richard Attenborough proud.

5. Fifty Shades of Grey (February 14th)- As quite possibly the most anticipated movie of all time for women everywhere, I’m sure this film adaptation of the best-selling book will do just fine. Starring Jamie Dornan as the sought after billionaire Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, the erotic romance story comes to life on the big screen this Valentine’s Day (of course). The premiere of the trailer caused quite a stir this summer, teasing at the storyline of testing one’s desires.
