Junior Crystal Nelson and senior Katy Moen led the charge for Iowa State Cross Country at the Roy Griak Invitational.

Nelson finished first for the Cyclones and third overall with a 20:45 time. It was the sixth-straight event dating back to last year that Nelson has finished first for Iowa State in events she has competed in.

Following closely behind Nelson, Moen placed fourth overall with a 20:47 time. Moen and Nelson helped Iowa State to a second place finish behind No. 3 Michigan State.

Sophomore Bethanie Brown was the only other ISU runner to crack the top-20, placing 16th with a time of 21:39.

The cross country team will be back in action for the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Oct. 17.
