Senate Bill F14-01 passed, amending the GPSS constitution to include non-discriminatory language with 89 percent approval.

Senate Bill F14-03 was postponed until the Sept. 29 meeting. The bill would amend the Professional Advancement Grant process beginning Jan. 1.

Senate Bill F14-04, providing $1,500 towards funding the planned Richard Dawkins lecture at Iowa State, passed with 67 percent of the vote.

Senate Bill F14-05, proposing $500 for membership in the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students, failed to gain a majority.

The GPSS Fall Social will be Sept. 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Brookside Park.

The GPSS graduate student orientation will be held at the Iowa State Alumni Center at 420 Beach Ave. in Ames on Sept. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
