ISU soccer falls 3-1 to USC

A 40-minute rain delay was not enough to dampen ISU soccer’s hot start against University of Southern California.

Koree Willer started the game off on the right foot for the Cyclones as she was able to find the back of the net just two minutes into the game.

The Cyclones were ultimately unable to maintain their hot start, as the Trojans scored three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 non-conference win.

The Trojans fired shots the entire game, forcing the Cyclones to play defense most of the game.

The Cyclones were outshot 19-5 by the Trojans. The Trojans were able to convert those shots into goals in the 33rd, 57th, and 84th minute. Andrea Swanson had four saves in the net for the Cyclones.

Iowa State will be in action again Sunday, August 31 as they make their home debut against St. Louis.
