Gov. Terry Branstad has been declared the winner in the Republican primary election June 3. The incumbent was being challenged by Tom Hoefling.

Iowa Republicans decided today that they want to see continued job growth, business investment, higher incomes, better schools and lower taxes,” Branstad said in a press release.

He thanked the voters who supported him at the polls and the thousands of volunteers from across the state. Branstad said he looks forword to having the Republican candidates and voters come together for the election in November against Jack Hatch.
